Tritax Group hires sustainability lead

Helen Drury will develop the group’s sustainability strategy

Property investment fund management house Tritax Group has appointed Helen Drury as sustainability lead.

Drury was previously senior manager, sustainability at Virgin Money where, since June 2018, she had been responsible for sustainability across the CYBG/Virgin Money Group and the Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank Foundation.

She helped to create a new long-term strategy and targets which were integrated across the group following the acquisition of Virgin Money.

In her new role at Tritax, which is the fund manager of Tritax Big Box REIT and Tritax Eurobox, Drury will be responsible for leading and further developing the sustainability strategy and performance, and driving its integration and implementation across the group to support not only the existing funds, but also the business’ strategic growth.

Henry Franklin, partner at Tritax, said the appointment signalled its commitment to sustainable business.

“We are confident that Helen’s wealth of experience and successful track record in driving sustainability and corporate responsibility within businesses, will be invaluable for the group and its funds as we continue to integrate ESG strategies within our wider business strategy,” he said.

Drury has also worked at the Department for Work and Pensions, intu Properties, where she was responsible for creating and delivering its sustainability strategy, and at Revo, where she was responsible for driving best practice within the retail property sector.

Franklin added: “We are also pleased to report that Tritax recently became a Gold Leaf Member of UKGBC, an industry-led network with a mission to radically improve the sustainability of the built environment, further demonstrating the group’s commitment to sustainability.”
