Sector Review: Who are the leaders in UK ESG funds?

The IA UK All Companies sector has some of the most established responsible products but, writes Square Mile's Jake Moeller, investment style – and performance – can vary wildly

The IA UK All Companies classification contains some of the most established responsible investment products, with the oldest dating back to 1989. Many of these have evolved from the ‘ethical’-type investments originally formed of exclusions-based investment portfolios.

Today, we would classify 19 of the 250 funds in the sector as responsible offerings. These equate to approximately £9bn of the £156bn of the sector’s assets under management (4.4%).
