Since last year’s Dasgupta Review, the investment industry has started to wake up to the urgent action needed to tackle the imminent threat of biodiversity loss.

As you will see in this month’s magazine, coinciding with the International Day for Biological Diversity and the UN’s World Bee Day in May, awareness is growing but understanding impact and translating that into disclosure is the real challenge.

Rathbone Greenbank Investments’ John David shares the firm’s plans to lead the way in this space and Dr Vian Sharif talks about her work with technological solutions and TNFD. Check out their videos in our highlights page.

We also have comments on the topic from the UNCFD, the Woodland Trust, Aviva Investors, Solactive, UKSIF and an educational piece for our ESG Clarity Intelligence page.

This issue also features our usual fund analysis, this time provided by Morningstar, and the Responsible Ratings Index, where we reflect on a year since its launch. There is an exit interview with Baillie Gifford’s retiring Charles Plowden, and special coverage of participation in the ‘No Mow May’ initiative.

We hope you enjoy this nature-themed issue.
