Best B Haviour: The essential ingredient in achieving climate commitments

Bridges CEO discusses how the B Corp movement and changes in Articles of Association fits into the sustainable transition

|

The Best B Haviour video series is brought to you by ESG Clarity and a coalition of B Corp certified businesses to encourage better governance within financial services.

Last year, Bonhill titles ESG Clarity, DiversityQ, Portfolio Adviser, International Adviser and Expert Investor responded to industry events surrounding treatment of customers and stakeholders with the Campaign for Better Governance, and meanwhile at COP26, a coalition of B Corps companies came together to issue a call to action to financial services to implement tighter and deeper corporate governance frameworks. As a result of this shared ambition, Best B Haviour was formed.

ESG Clarity is delighted to be interviewing the CEOs and senior management of B Corps companies discussing the importance of the campaigns, shareholder versus stakeholder centrism and internal governance.

In this episode, ESG Clarity’s global head of ESG insight Natalie Kenway speaks to Michele Giddens, CEO at Bridges Fund Management about being one of the first asset managers to be certified B Corp and how this has helped guide others including portfolio companies.

Giddens also explains how the B Lab impact assessment tool is helpful to work out where companies need extra attention and how the B Corp movement and changes in Articles of Association fits into the sustainable transition.

She ends flagging that members of the B Corp Finance Coalition UK are making themselves available to firms that are considering getting involved.
