Stewart Investors Sustainable Funds Group has launched a second sustainable fund investing in European companies, but this time excluding UK companies.

The European (ex UK) Sustainability Strategy is for professional clients in the UK and is managed by Lorna Logan (pictured) and Rob Harley. Last year, the group launched the Stewart Investors European Sustainability Strategy in June, which invests in UK equities alongside European counterparts.

Stewart Investors’ new fund invests across the market cap spectrum after the team has identified companies with strong and competitive franchises, exceptional people and distinctive cultures, and resilient financials. These companies are individually and collectively solving difficult problems, meeting vital needs, and helping society do more with less.

The portfolio is concentrated with 30-40 investments, meaning that the top 10 positions are expected to make up 30-40% of total portfolio assets.

Logan commented: “Europe is home to some of the highest quality and best sustainability companies in the world. They include world-leading businesses in sectors like healthcare, bioscience, clean energy, manufacturing and information technology.

“We select companies that have great sustainability tailwinds, exceptional management teams, and strong growth prospects, locally and internationally.”

Harley added: “Stewart Investors has a strong track record of sustainable investing, built over the last 17 years. As a team we have been investing in high-quality European equities for over a decade in our worldwide sustainability strategies.

“We invest for the long-term, and only in companies contributing to a more sustainable future. We take a bottom-up approach to analysing companies and building portfolios, which is the best way we know to deliver solid absolute returns for our clients”.
