Save the date: Live Twitter Q&A with impact investing expert Professor Gandhi

ESG Clarity is delighted to announce its next expert for the live Twitter Q&A series.

Professor Vikram S. Gandhi, senior lecturer at Harvard Business School (HBS) and impact investment expert, will be tuning into Twitter on Thursday 16 July at 14.00 BST to answer questions from ESG Clarity readers.

Professor Gandhi has developed and teaches HBS’s first course on impact investing and has 23 years’ of experience in investment banking where he influenced and informed the ways that impact investing is shaped investors’ responses to global markets.

He is the founder of Asha Impact, an impact investing platform set up by socially conscious individuals to leverage combined capital, networks and expertise to address critical development challenges facing India and other emerging economies and is also a senior advisor to the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).

His investment banking career included stints at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley, where he focused on advising boards of directors and CEOs around the globe on strategic direction and the implementation of major mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising initiatives, and helped establish Morgan Stanley’s presence in India.

With his expertise on he is able to answer readers’ questions on:

  • How impact investing may be getting too much credit for outperforming during the Covid-19 market slide — but is still getting too little credit for being able to outperform in the long run.
  • How social factors are difficult to measure from an ESG standpoint.
  • How companies will have to be more transparent than ever to not only their investors, but their workers and communities as well.

The live Q&A is a new initiative from ESG Clarity to boost interaction between the in-house team and our readers, as well as connect them with ESG investing experts. In the first edition, readers posted their questions to PRI CEO Fiona Reynolds – you can view the full Q&A here.
