Redwheel has hired Stephanie Kelly (pictured) from abrdn as head of thematic sustainability research.

In the newly created role, Kelly will build and lead a team of sustainability research specialists that will serve as a centralised resource for Redwheel’s investment teams.  The team will explore investable themes,  providing deep dives, macro and thematic research and sector implications.

At abrdn, Kelly was deputy head of its research institute where she was responsible for the integration and application of ESG research across the business. She was also senior political economist at abrdn, and political economist at Standard Life Investments where she built proprietary risk analysis frameworks for investment and policy decisions.

Arthur Grigoryants, head of investment strategy at Redwheel, the company previously known as RWC, commented: “Stephanie’s knowledge and track record in macro ESG research will be a key ingredient as we build out our sustainable offering.  The appointment is a reflection of the opportunities we see to enhance both the quality and breadth of our sustainability activities and develop our approach to collaboration.”

The new team will work with Chris Anker, Redwheel’s head of sustainability, who recently appointed Olivia Seddon-Daines as senior sustainability specialist and Katherine Velasquez Rodriguez as responsible investment associate in March this year.
