Morningstar Sustainalytics appoints Singapore-based director

Yayoi Asazuma spent over 20 years with Nomura Securities before joining Sustainalytics

Morningstar Sustainalytics, which provides ESG research, ratings and data, has appointed Yayoi Asazuma as director of client relations, effective 1 January.

Based in Singapore, she is responsible for meeting the needs of Morningstar’s institutional investor clients across Singapore, Malaysia and other countries in southeast Asia.

“We are delighted to appoint Yayoi to Morningstar Sustainalytics’ Singapore office. This appointment is part of our longer-term plans to build our physical presence in the Asia Pacific region to better serve the increasing ESG needs of investors. Her strong experience in serving the market for over 20 years with Nomura Securities in Singapore, Hong Kong and London and since 2019 with Sustainalytics in our Tokyo office will ensure the local markets have access to an experienced ESG professional.

“Yayoi will also work closely with the local Morningstar teams in the region,” said Chris Terzis, Morningstar Sustainalytics’ senior director of client relations for Asia Pacific ex-Japan.

“Morningstar Sustainalytics is committed to further strengthening our footprint in Asia. To that end, we will be undertaking a search in the new year for an appointment of an additional Client Advisor to further assist in meeting the increasing demand for ESG research in the region,” he adds.
