Green Dream with MSCI’s Linda-Eling Lee: Five trends to watch and figuring out the biodiversity footprint

MSCI's research director gives five trends to watch this year, and discusses companies' climate change and biodiversity challenges

In this episode of the Green Dream, the video series where ESG Clarity interviews key figureheads in the responsible investment world to get their views on the latest trends, news and movements in this evolving landscape, ESG Clarity global head of ESG insight Natalie Kenway speaks to Linda-Eling Lee, MSCI’s global head of ESG research.

She shares insights from the research she has carried out including five big trends to watch this year and the challenges around meeting the Paris Agreement targets, as well as how investors can influence companies to drastically change their emissions profiles.

Lee also talks about MSCI’s research on high impact and high dependency sectors from a biodiversity perspective and how companies can work out their biodiversity footprint, and how social inequalities can be linked to the gradual erosion of stock prices.

To conclude, Lee highlights Deliver Zero in her home town of New York that is not only supporting small businesses during the pandemic but recycles the containers food is delivered in – users wash and keep the pots and then return them to be reused when their next takeaway/takeout delivery arrives.
