Aviva Investors bolsters Responsible Investment team

Aviva Investors has announced the expansion of its Global Responsible Investment team with a host of new analyst hires.

The asset management arm of Aviva announced the appointment of Rick Stathers as a senior environmental, social and governance analyst. Stathers starts in August and will reunite with former CDP colleague Sora Utzinger, who recently joined as an ESG Analyst.

The team is being further strengthened by the appointment of Nathan Lerclerc, who is returning to Aviva Investors from ISS following the retirement of Anita Skipper.

In a media statement, Steve Waygood, global chief responsible investment officer at Aviva Investors, said that responsible investment and engagement is now “a key focus” for the asset management industry.

He explained: “Aviva Investors has long been at the forefront of this trend and we are pleased to add such strong additional resource to the team.

“Rick, Sora, Nathan and the other recent additions to the team bring a wealth of experience that will be of great benefit as we continue to grow our activities across the broad spectrum of responsible investing.”

Aviva Investors has been building its sustainable analysis team aggressively in recent months, including several internal moves from within the group, such as the appointment of Marte Borhaug as head of Strategic Projects and Richard Butters as an SRI fund analyst.

Other hires include Eugenie Mathieu as a senior SRI fund analyst, who joined from Greenpeace; Rebecca Vine as a senior corporate governance analyst, from Fidelity; Sophie Rahm as an ESG analyst, from Standard Life Aberdeen; Stanley Kwong as an ESG analyst, from the National Audit Office; Natalia Rajewska as an ESG analyst, from Corporate Citizenship; and Louise Piffaut as an ESG analyst from Sycomore Asset Management.
