13 finance firms sign biodiversity pledge

Taking the total to 111 from 20 countries, representing €16.3trn in assets

abrdn, Schroders and Green Century are among 13 new signatories to the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge.

The Pledge was established by a group of European financial institutions and launched by a group of 26 financial institutions during the UN General Assembly on 25 September 2020.

It commits signatories to collaborating and sharing knowledge, engaging with companies, assessing impact, setting targets, and publicly reporting on progress before 2025.

The new signatories take the total to 111 from 20 countries, representing €16.3trn in assets.

There will be another round of signatories in December 2022, during COP15. Financial institutions can already sign up here.

Earlier this month, Finance for Biodiversity rebranded as NatureFinance, and unveiled its latest project investing in early-stage biodiversity businesses.

The 13 new signatories are:

abrdn, Aéma Groupe, Andra AP-fonden, Ethical Partner Funds Management, Green Century, Lazard Frères Gestion, NN Group, PGGM N.V, Pictet Group, Schroders, SG 29 Haussmann, Société Générale Private Wealth Management and Velliv Pension & Livsforsikring A/S.
